Crash In Middle River Involves School Bus: Report

Breaking: Part of US 40 is closed in Baltimore County due to a multiple-vehicle crash, according to officials.

MIDDLE RIVER, MD — A crash requiring a rescue and medevac occurred in Middle River Friday, according to officials. Route 40 was temporarily closed to eastbound traffic due to the wreck, which reportedly involved a school bus.

Crews from White Marsh and Baltimore County responded to the crash, the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company reported before 5 p.m.

Transportation officials said three vehicles crashed on US 40 east before 5 p.m. As a result, Pulaski Highway was closed to eastbound traffic between Middle River Road and MD 700/Martin Boulevard.

One person in a car was injured, according to WBAL, which reported a school bus was involved in the crash, although it was unclear whether any students were aboard.

After 6:15 p.m., authorities said the left lane had reopened on Route 40 east, while the two right lanes and right shoulder remained closed due to the wreck. Route 40 west was clear, officials said.
