Dump Trucks Crash On Route 40: White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company

BREAKING: Route 40 is blocked north of White Marsh due to a crash that authorities say involves two dump trucks.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD -- Two dump trucks crashed on Tuesday afternoon, officials said, causing backups on US 40. The collision occurred between Days Cove Road and Jones Road, according to the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company.

Westbound Route 40 is closed as of 3 p.m. in the area of the crash, state transportation officials reported.

The crash happened at approximately 1:50 p.m. on US 40 west in the area of Jones Road, officials said.

Route 40 east was backed up to Allender Road, the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company reported shortly after the crash, noting temporary closures were in place to enable those headed west to make u-turns.
