Free Movies Under the Stars

Take the kids out for a fun-filled night of entertainment in the park

Schools are back in session and a chill has returned to the air in northeast Baltimore County. It's time to start finding ways to make the best use of the shorter days and limited time with the kids.

Movies in the Park, running every Saturday night at 8 p.m., from Sept. 4 through Oct. 2, at Honeygo Regional Park, brings some of the most popular Disney, Pixar and Dreamworks movies to the outdoor screen.

And it's free.

This family-friendly activity includes complimentary popcorn, so all you need to bring are blankets, chairs and a cooler with any other appropriate food and beverages. Of course if you prefer, and the chill calls for it, warm beverages work as well.

But this is more than just an outdoor movie event. Beginning at 7:40 p.m., kids can enjoy balloon sculpting, face painting, visits with the Chick-Fil-A Cow and many other exciting activities, with more to be added along the way. Check the website at www.parkmoviesonline.com for changes or details.

Remaining in the lineup are:

  • Finding Nemo on Sept. 18
  • Madagascar on Sept. 25
  • Toy Story on Oct. 2

Movies will be shown rain or shine. In the event of extreme inclement weather, movies and activities will be moved indoors to the gymnasium.

So pack up the car, invite your friends, and enjoy a fun evening under the stars. Honeygo Regional Park is located at 9033 Honeygo Blvd., Perry Hall, MD 21128.

Movies in the Park is sponsored by Trinity Assemblies of God and Page Consulting Group, in partnership with the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks.
