'Future of Historic Perry Hall Mansion ... in Jeopardy': Board
Historic Perry Hall Mansion board will discuss plans for the property's future at Oct. 6 meeting.

The future of the Perry Hall Mansion is ”in jeopardy,” according to the Historic Perry Hall Mansion, Inc., which consists of community members interested in preserving the mansion.
The group wrote a letter recently informing citizens about an Oct. 6 meeting at the Perry Hall Library to discuss the future of the property.

The Historic Perry Hall Mansion board says Baltimore County offered a lease agreement to its organization, and an inspection of the property—in “as-is” condition—revealed it needs a new septic system, which may complicate the organization’s plans for use and improvements.
“The Perry Hall Mansion needs your support more than ever if we are to move forward,” the board said. “We believe that this building is an asset to our community and want nothing more than to open it for community use and to preserve it for future generations.”

The organization has begun a capital campaign to raise $300,000 by June 30, 2015, and says it has just under $100,000 in the bank.
Board members said this was a “critical point” in discussions with the county, and that the group needs “...your renewed involvement and immediate action, as the future of the Historic Perry Hall Mansion and our organization are in jeopardy.”
At its upcoming meeting, the board will discuss the building’s status, improvement needs, safety issues and what would be needed to open the building and property for community use.
The open forum meeting will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6, at the meeting room in the Perry Hall Library, 9685 Honeygo Boulevard, in Perry Hall.
