The Gazette notes the Panthers face a "tall task" in competing against the top-seeded Gators, a team that includes 6'9" and 6'8" players and a 24-2 record, and stated that many have "penciled in a Perry Hall-Wise final Saturday night." However, Coach George Panageotou recalls that the team made it to the semifinals last year and was ousted by the Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders, who went on to win the state championship.
