Handgun And Ammunition Discovered At Chesapeake High School: Police
A loaded gun was found in a classroom at a high school in Baltimore County, according to authorities.
ESSEX, MD — After a loaded gun and ammunition were found at Chesapeake High School, the Baltimore County Police Department reports it is investigating.
At 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, police said officers were notified an administrator at the school in the 1800 block of Turkey Point Road found a loaded handgun and ammunition.
The gun was in an empty classroom inside a bag, according to authorities.

The investigation is "open and active," the Baltimore County Police Department reported Wednesday night.
School officials asked parents to remind their children that "weapons of any kind are not allowed on property" and could lead to "serious school and legal consequences," according to a letter from the school obtained by WMAR.
