The project involves stabilizing the fields and improving drainage, which has been a significant problem at the 23-acre park off Franklinville Road.
Design for the project has taken longer than expected due to the conditions at the site. The design stage is approximately 95 percent. The Department of Public Works will send the project out for construction bids. The current plan is to have fields ready by spring 2017.

In my conversations with staff from the Department of Recreation and Parks, I have asked that every attempt be made to accommodate sports teams that use the fields.
I would like to thank County Executive Kamenetz and his staff for supporting this project, especially Director of Recreation and Parks Barry Williams. The improvements are long overdue and should improve the use of this important park.
