Man Arrested After Eluding Perry Hall Traffic Stop: Police

PERRY HALL, MD — A driver was arrested after police said he would not stop, crashed and then ran from authorities Tuesday afternoon in Perry Hall.

Officers tried to conduct a traffic stop around 12:30 p.m. but the driver would not pull over, according to Detective Rob Reason. Police did not pursue the driver, and Reason said he could not speculate as to why.

However, Reason said a short time later police found the vehicle had crashed near Silver Hall Road at Silver Spring Road.

The driver had gotten out and run, Reason reported.

"He was captured a short time later by the officers," said Reason, who told Perry Hall Patch the man was taken into custody before 2 p.m.

Police declined to provide his name or the nature of the offense, as charges were pending Tuesday.
