Man Who Killed Grandmother, Granddaughter In Baltimore County Pleads Guilty

Prosecutors are expected to recommend life without parole, according to a report.

MIDDLE RIVER, MD — The man accused of killing a woman and her granddaughter at a home in Middle River in 2024 pleaded guilty to murder in connection with their deaths, according to a report.

On Tuesday, 38-year-old Bryan Cherry accepted a deal to plead guilty to two counts of first-degree murder for killing Iona Sellers, 75, and Autumn Harvey, 29, in July 2024, WBAL-TV reported.

Sentencing will happen at a later date, the report said. Prosecutors are expected to recommend life without parole for the first murder count, and a concurrent life sentence for the second.

Harvey moved in with her grandmother a few years ago after her grandfather died, a relative previously told WJZ. Devin Harvey, Harvey's cousin, described her as a kind soul with a contagious laugh.

"She was a little bit shy, but once you got to know her and broke out of her shell, she was just awesome," Devin Harvey told WJZ.

Devin Harvey, though not related to Sellers, told WJZ she was dedicated to her community and church.

Cherry was also accused of committing two other acts of violence around the time he killed Sellers and Harvey.

On June 26, 2024, Cherry randomly stabbed a man eight times at a hospital on Eager Street in Baltimore, according to a separate WBAL report. The victim told authorities he was handing out free medical supplies to patients when the incident occurred. A warrant was later issued for Cherry's arrest.

A week after Sellers and Harvey died, Baltimore City police arrested Cherry for killing 39-year-old Sierra Johnson.
