In March, Two Milestones for Perry Hall

The Perry Hall library and Indian Rock Park were dedicated in March of 2009.

March 23, 2009 was an important day for the Perry Hall community.

That morning, Perry Hall's leaders celebrated the creation of Indian Rock Park. The wooded property next to Perry Hall High School had been purchased by Baltimore County to prevent development, and in 2009, the Perry Hall Improvement Association successfully persuaded Baltimore County to formalize the acreage as a park. A trail was added in 2014, the northern leg of what will eventually become a hiking and biking path stretching to Overlea.

I will be hosting our third annual cleanup of the park on Saturday, March 2nd at 8 a.m.

Also that morning, the county formally opened the new Perry Hall library. The Perry Hall Improvement Association worked for ten years to open this branch. It replaced an older building on Belair Road that rested on private property. With Angel Park to the east, the library has become in many ways the heart of our community.
