Men's Barbershop Chorus Performs in Perry Hall Summer Concert Series

St. Michael Lutheran Church hosted The Chorus of the Chesapeake.

The Greater Perry Hall Community Alliance continued its summer concert series Sunday evening at with The Chorus of the Chesapeake.

The internationally acclaimed Dundalk-based group filled the chapel with spirituals, folk songs and patriotic medleys.

"What makes this chorus special are the men who sing in it. They come from all walks of life," said director Rick Taylor.

Judy Meusel, who sings in St. Michael's church choir, said she felt a special connection with the group. "My father was a member back in the '60s," Meusel said. "That's what got me singing."

Following the performance, State Sen. Kathy Klausmeier presented citations to individuals who assisted in planning the community concert series: Lee Hager, Debbie Redmer, Gayle Holcolm and Elmer J. Klein.
