Nottingham Man Killed On Interstate 95 Near I-195: Police

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Police said a Nottingham man died Tuesday morning after being hit by a car on Interstate 95 near Catonsville. It was unclear why he was on the interstate.

Before 1:25 a.m., investigators said a man driving a Mercedes on I-95 north felt something hit the left side of his car and pulled over before the exit for I-195. He saw a body on the left shoulder and notified authorities before 1:25 a.m.

Joel Hopkins, 34, of Nottingham, was taken to St. Agnes Hospital, where police said he was declared deceased.

Neither drugs, alcohol nor speeding was believed to be a factor, officials said. The crash remains under investigation.
