Owner Retiring, Poor Little Rich Girl's Future Unknown

Linda Fike said she hopes to find a buyer for the Perry Hall shop.

Perry Hall's Poor Little Rich Girl is losing its longtime owner at the end of the year, but whether it will be sold or close remains unknown.

Linda Fike purchased the shop more than 20 years ago—at the time, a popular consignment shop in an aging two-story home near Double-T Diner. She discontinued consignment more than 10 years ago to focus on formal wear and bridal gowns. In 2010, she moved the shop to an office space across the street at 9105 Belair Rd.

"After 20 years, with some health problems, I've decided to retire. Hopefully, someone will take it over," Fike said. For supplemental income after her retirement, she plans to drive a school bus for special needs children, she added.

She plans to sell much of her inventory in the next six weeks by offering items at up to 75 percent off.

"I'm going to miss helping girls find that one special dress, and the thank-yous, at least," Fike said.
