Park Named for Perry Hall's Founder Opens Off Honeygo Boulevard
The 17-acre park features athletic fields, walking paths, a comfort station, pavilions and a parking lot.

A $3.5 million park opened in Perry Hall Friday that will address a “longstanding shortage of athletic playing fields in the Perry Hall/White Marsh area,” according to a statement from Baltimore County.
Gough Park is located on Honeygo Boulevard, near Honeygo Run Regional Park.
It’s named for plantation owner Harry Dorsey Gough, who is credited with founding Perry Hall in 1774.

“This wonderful new park is named for the founder of Perry Hall, and it is across from our community’s oldest church,” Councilman David Marks said. “We are not only preserving an area from development, but continuing to enhance the parks and recreation that make Perry Hall such an appealing place to live.”
Encompassing 17 acres, Gough Park includes athletic fields, walking paths, pavilions, parking lot and bathrooms. Baltimore County officials anticipate grass turf fields will be ready for fall play.

Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz, who led a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the park Friday, said: “Active, outdoor recreation is important for everyone, young and old, and this park is a great new amenity for the whole community.”
Gough Park has been in the works for more than a decade, The Baltimore Sun reported last October, upon its groundbreaking. More specifically, it was 14 years in the making, according to Marks.
The project cost $3.5 million, including $1.2 million in county funds and a pending $2.3 million grant from Program Open Space, according to a statement from Baltimore County.
“This is a real investment in the health and quality of life for our residents in the Perry Hall and White Marsh areas,” Kamenetz said.
A facility currently under construction around the corner on Joppa Road will complement the outdoor recreation facilities at Gough Park, by offering indoor opportunities at Soukup Arena and Park, according to Baltimore County. That facility is anticipated to be complete in winter 2015.
Now open, Gough Park is located at 9201 Honeygo Boulevard in Perry Hall.
