Pedestrian Killed Crossing US 40 Near Rossville Boulevard: Police

Police said a deadly crash is under investigation after a man was hit in a crosswalk on Route 40 in Baltimore County.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A man died crossing US 40 near Middle River Thursday morning, according to police. Authorities said the driver stayed at the scene, and the crash remains under investigation Friday.

Arthur Joseph Jr. 45, whose last known address was the 4500 block of Reisterstown Road, was in a crosswalk that had been closed for construction when he was hit, police said. A Chevrolet Camaro that was going west on US 40/Pulaski Highway toward Rossville Boulevard hit Joseph at 5:49 a.m., authorities reported.

The pedestrian was taken to MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, where officials said he was pronounced deceased.
