Perry Hall 4th Of July Fireworks: 2018 Guide

Here's your guide to Fourth of July fireworks, parades and other festive events around Perry Hall.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Fourth of July celebrations are right around the corner. Here's what is coming up around Perry Hall this year for Independence Day.

The Kingsville Parade is slated for Wednesday, July 4. The parade will start at 11 a.m. at the corner of Bradshaw and Jerusalem Road.

The theme for the 2018 parade is "Being Grateful for Our Nation is Cause for Celebration!"

Here is the brief rundown, with more details below:

  • 9 a.m.: Lineup at Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company, 11601 Bellevue Avenue, Kingsville
  • 9:50 a.m.: Bradshaw Road closed to traffic at Jerusalem Road
  • 10 a.m.: Pre-parade festivities at Jerusalem and Bradshaw Road
  • 10:50 a.m.: Parade begins at Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company
  • 11 a.m. Opening ceremonies at judges' stand, Bradshaw at Jerusalem Roads
  • Parade ends at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 12022 Jerusalem Road, Kingsville

While the weather will be steamy for parades, concerts and other July 4 fun, the Maryland weather forecast looks favorable for events to go off as planned. The National Weather Service says there is a 20 percent chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms after noon on Wednesday with a high near 92; it will feel like 100 degrees. On Wednesday night the 20 percent chance of rain lingers, with isolated showers and storm before 3 a.m. and mostly cloudy skies.

Pre-Parade Festivities

The celebration begins at 10 a.m. at the same location, by the judges' viewing stand. The pre-parade entertainment will include the Oriole Bird, TwirlTasTix baton twirlers, Baltimore City Pipe Band, Releve Dance, Steve Gambrill the "Extreme Balloon Man," Upper Falls Dance Academy and soloist Tyler Gnade.

Opening ceremonies

The opening ceremonies will start at 11 a.m. at the judges' stand with Master of Ceremonies Bruce McCubbin.

Christina Massimei will perform the national anthem with accompaniment from the Havre de Grace High School Warrior Pride Marching Band under the direction of Richard Hauf. The Maryland Air National Guard will conduct a flyover if weather permits.

The United States Army Communications-Electronics Command Color Guard will present the flag, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by a special guest from the Maryland Air National Guard.

Parade In Brief

Eight marching bands are set to perform in the Kingsville Independence Day Parade:

  • Baltimore City Pipe Band
  • Havre de Grace High School Warrior Pride Marching Band
  • Edgewood High School Marching Band
  • C. Milton Wright High School Marching Band
  • North Harford High School Marching Band
  • Joppatowne High School Marching Band
  • Patterson Mill High School Marching Band
  • Aberdeen High School Marching Band

Antique vehicles, floats, equestrians, recreational vehicles, fire apparatus and more will participate in the parade. People must enter by June 24.

Judging will take place in 11 categories.

Parking

St. John’s Episcopal Church offer air conditioning to parade spectators and handicapped parking at 11901 Belair Road.

Grace Community Church will provide additional parking and be offering water to attendees at 11611 Belair Road.

Fullerton Fireworks

The Fullerton fireworks show will start at 5 p.m. with music, food and family fun. Music will be provided by Awaken. Also available will be Tex-Mex and Greek food as well as hot dogs, hamburgers, seafood, draft beer and wine.

Fireworks are set to go off at 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, at Fullerton Park, 4304 Fullerton Avenue, Nottingham.

The rain date is Saturday, July 7.

The show is put together by volunteers and donations through the Fullerton Fireworks Foundation, which reports the 2018 celebration will mark the 54th anniversary. The communities of Perry Hall, White Marsh, Parkville, Overlea, Linover, Rosedale, Elmwood-Belmar and northeast Baltimore City support the event.
