Perry Hall BP Sells $50,000 Winning Lotto Ticket
A man said his stop in Perry Hall on the way to work paid off to the tune of $50,100.

PERRY HALL, MD — The Perry Hall BP sold a five-figure winning lotto ticket recently. A man purchased the scratch-offs at the gas station in the 8800 block of Belair Road on his way to work, according to the Maryland Lottery.
The 49-year-old lotto player, who lives in Bel Air, said he was halfway to work and stopped at the Perry Hall gas station because he had "one too many cups of coffee."
As he was heading back to his car, he saw the instant ticket vending machine and bought two $2,000,000 Fortune game tickets and found he was a $50,000 winner.

"When the cashier confirmed the prize for me, he gave me a high-five," the Bel Air man said. "It was a great moment."
He almost forgot to play his second ticket but when he scratched that off, he found that was also a winner.

"The $50,000 blew me away," he told the Maryland Lottery of his Nov. 20 win. "But when the other ticket gave me $100 more, it was just astounding."
He plans to put the money toward making Christmas extra special for his three children and "super-sizing" a family vacation he had planned for next year, according to lottery officials.
