Perry Hall Corporal Charged In Sex Offense Case
A corporal assigned to the courts in Harford County who lives in Perry Hall has been suspended amid sex assault allegations.
BEL AIR, MD — A corporal with the Harford County Sheriff's Office who lives in Perry Hall has been suspended after being served a criminal summons. The summons charged him with two counts of second-degree assault and two counts of a fourth-degree sex offense.
Corporal Thomas Gregory, who is assigned to the Court Security Division, was suspended with pay, as required by the Law Enforcement Officer's Bill of Rights, according to the sheriff's office.
Gregory, who lives in the 9100 block of Panorama Drive in Perry Hall, was issued the criminal summons on Thursday, March 21, according to court records.

While officials said the charges were related to an occurrence while Gregory was off duty on Saturday, March 9, they declined to provide any details about the alleged crime.
The Harford County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division and Office of Professional Standards conducted the investigation into the incident.

"The Harford County Sheriff's Office holds its employees to the highest standards and will thoroughly investigate all allegations of misconduct, remaining vigilant to ensure our efforts are professional and meet the high standards the public has come to expect from our deputies," according to a statement from the Harford County Sheriff's Office. "The acts alleged are not reflective of the hard work and dedication of the men and women of the Harford County Sheriff's Office."
Gregory has been with the sheriff's office since 2002 and was promoted to corporal in 2015, according to the agency, which does not issue mug shots when a criminal summons has been issued, which was the case in this instance.
Gregory is slated to appear in Harford County District Court for the second-degree assault and fourth-degree sex offense charges on May 28.
