Perry Hall Gators Meet Howard Lions for Football Playoffs Friday

The Nov. 14 regional semifinal game is déjà vu for the Howard, Baltimore county teams.

The Perry Hall Gators and Howard Lions will meet again on Friday night, in a rematch from last year’s 4A north regional semifinals.

In last year’s playoffs, the Gators eliminated the Lions, beating them 28-15.

So far this season, the Lions are undefeated, with a 10-0 record. The Gators come into the playoffs at 7-3, according to the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association.

The Gators “squeaked into the playoffs” this year in part due to injured receivers, according to The Baltimore Sun, which provided a daunting forecast for Perry Hall against the “pounding running game” brought by the Lions.

On top of the desire to make a comeback after last year’s loss, Lions defensive end and senior Winston DeLattiboudere told The Washington Post that he “might be bringing more pain” than usual since he had a few days off the field due to pneumonia.

The 4A north regional semifinal game will be at 7 p.m. at Howard High School, 8700 Old Annapolis Road, in Ellicott City. Admission is $6 for those 7 years old and up, according to Howard High School Athletics.
