Perry Hall Girl Scouts Donate 72 Christmas Stockings

Stockings were donated to the Salvation Army to be distributed to children in need.

A group of is hoping their legacy of Christmas service will continue, even after they graduate from high school.

For the past five years, members of Girl Scout Troop 1667 have donated stockings to the Salvation Army. Filled with toys and candy, the stockings will be distributed to children in need through a sister project of the annual Giving Tree program, according to troop leader Donna Gawryck.

What started with 12 stockings during a merit badge project has expanded to 72 stockings. But as all of the troop members are now seniors in high school, this is their last year in the organization, according to Gawryck.
