Perry Hall Pizza Hut Hosts Hot Rods

Bryan Hannan is a Corvette enthusiast. His wife Bonnie is general manager of the Perry Hall Pizza Hut on Belair Road. 

"We were just talking one day over lunch and decided to get together and plan something fun," Bryan said.

The result was the restaurant's first-ever Car Show and Family Fun Day, held on Saturday afternoon. Pizza by the slice, face painting, music and hot rods combined in the parking lot of the Silver Spring Shopping Center.

Hot rods included a 2007 C5 Corvette convertible, a 2007 6-cylinder Mustang coupe and a 1980 Avanti II.

While triple-digit heat kept crowds to a minimum, Bonnie said future events were already in the works.

"We expect more people the next time we do this," she said.
