Perry Hall Student Named National Merit Scholar
The student from Perry Hall was selected from a pool of more than 1.5 million for the national recognition.

PERRY HALL, MD — A Perry Hall High School student has won a National Merit Scholarship, according to Baltimore County Public Schools.
Olivia A. Banks will receive the $2,500 award from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. She plans to pursue a career in biophysics, school officials said, and was among three students from the Baltimore County Public Schools selected for the award.
Quinton T. Davidson of Eastern Technical High School and Meera A. Rothman of Dulaney High School were also named National Merit Scholars on Wednesday, school officials reported.

The three Baltimore County Public Schools students were among 2,500 high school seniors who won single-payment $2,500 scholarships sponsored by the not-for-profit National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
The organization honors scholastically talented youths. To screen entrants for this year's awards, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation used the 2015 Preliminary SAT (PSAT). The corporation reported that approximately 1,600,000 juniors took the PSAT that round.
