PHOTO: Name Perry Hall's Rare White Deer
Take a closer look at life in Perry Hall.
At first glance, I thought it had to be a goat.
Now I'm convinced it was a rare white , seen in Perry Hall near the early Wednesday evening.
According to an article by the U.S. Geological Survey's Wildlife Service Patuxent Research Refuge, "Piebald deer (partially white) are from a recessive genetic trait and the deer usually become more prevalent due to overpopulation of a deer herd."

The article also cites a study conducted by a high school student indicating that "white deer of Patuxent are not ostracized by normal colored deer."
But there's no telling if that also applies to deer in Perry Hall. This deer appeared to be alone when photographed.
