PHOTO OF THE DAY: Putty Hill Power Lines, Eyesore or Landmark?

A Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. photographer took this photo from the site of the Holtwood power lines at Belair Road and Putty Hill on Aug. 20, 1957.

The following description is provided by Baltimore County Legacy Web:

One worker stands at the base of a transmission tower jotting an entry after taking a reading through the theodolite on the tripod in front of him; a second worker seems to be laying something on the ground or digging. A plethora of steel framed transmission towers mar this otherwise bucolic scene. There is only a handful of houses seen among the trees.

Do you agree that the transmission towers are an eyesore which "mar this otherwise bucolic scene," or are they a monumental gateway into the Perry Hall community?
