Philadelphia Road Reopens After Report Of Shooting: Police
After a report of a person possibly armed with a gun off Philadelphia Road Tuesday, police said a suspicious substance was also found.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Philadelphia Road has reopened between New Forge Road and Joppa Road Tuesday afternoon after a call about a possible shooting. Officials advised people to anticipate continued police activity in the area, where an arrest was made with charges pending.
A suspicious substance also prompted a response by the Baltimore County Fire Department, police said.
Officers were initially called to the 11500 block of Philadelphia Road for a report of a person who possibly had a gun, police said. They could not get in touch with the caller, so surrounded the house.

Around 1:15 p.m., Philadelphia Road/MD 7 was closed between Joppa Road and New Forge Road as police established the perimeter.
Two people came outside and a third person was arrested, authorities reported, with charges pending.

By 2:07 p.m., police said that Philadelphia Road had reopened, and the situation had been brought under control, with no injuries reported.

INITIAL REPORT — Philadelphia Road is closed as police handle a situation south of New Forge Road Tuesday afternoon, officials say. Law enforcement officers said they were called to the scene for a report of a person who possibly had a gun off Philadelphia Road.
Philadelphia Road/MD 7 will be closed at New Forge Road until further notice as authorities assess the situation, police reported before 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9.
Police said that they had established a perimeter around a home in the 11500 block of Philadelphia Road and were communicating with the people inside, in an update after 1:30 p.m.
The Philadelphia Road closure extends from MD 7 between New Forge Road and Joppa Road, according to the State Highway Administration, which advised taking US 40/Pulaski Highway as an alternate route.
"This is not an active shooter situation," the Baltimore County Police Department said in a statement.
