Police ID Suspect in White Marsh Burning

A Harford County man is charged with attempted first-degree murder, other offenses.

Police say the man who allegedly set two people on fire in White Marsh Friday has been charged.

Christopher Harrison Jr., 28, of the 900 block of Topview Drive in Edgewood, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, first and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, court records show.

The charges against Harrison reportedly stem from a fight among four male coworkers on US 40/Pulaski Highway west of Allender Road that broke out before 5 p.m. on Friday. During the altercation, gasoline was poured onto two victims, who were then set on fire, according to authorities.

Initially, police said there were two perpetrators, but Saturday morning officials said the fourth man was no longer being considered a suspect.

Both victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment, and police said they were in critical condition Saturday afternoon with major burns. One victim had burns covering 90 percent of his body, Fox 45 reported.

Harrison was being held without bail, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing in Baltimore County District Court on Dec. 30.
