10 Children Injured in Overlea School Bus Crash: Police
Minivan driver tried to pass school bus, Baltimore County Police Department reported.

Ten students were taken to the hospital Wednesday morning after a vehicle crashed into their school bus while trying to pass it, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.
The bus was headed south on Kenwood Avenue in Overlea, en route to Elmwood Elementary School, when it was hit at 8:55 a.m., police said.
While preparing to make a left turn from Kenwood onto North Lane, the bus pulled to the right, and as it did, a Chevrolet minivan that had been behind the school bus tried to pass it on the left, according to police.

The minivan crashed into the bus as it turned and injured several students, police reported. The driver of the minivan was not injured, according to police.
First responders from the Baltimore County Fire Department assessed students who were on the bus at the time of the crash, police said at 9:37 a.m.

Subsequently, 10 Elmwood Elementary students were taken to Franklin Square Hospital to be assessed, police reported; their injuries were not serious, police said.
The crash is under investigation through the Baltimore County Police Department’s White Marsh precinct.
