Road Rage Drive-Through: Man Shot in Taco Bell Line

NOTTINGHAM, MD – An altercation that began with honking ended with gunfire in line at a Taco Bell drive-through in Nottingham, Baltimore County police say.

Now, authorities are trying to track down information about the suspect vehicle, which officials say peeled out after the shooting.

According to police, a pickup truck was in the drive-through queue at the restaurant in the 7900 block of Belair Road when the next car in line began beeping to get the driver to move up.

The truck pulled forward and while it was at the window to pick up food, the other vehicle continued beeping, according to police.

A passenger in the pickup truck—a 37-year-old man—got out to confront the people in the honking vehicle, a Chevrolet Equinox, but could not see through the passenger-side window, according to police; the windows were tinted.

It was also dark at the time—the altercation occurred at approximately 1 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, according to police.

The man went around to the driver’s side, where the window was partly open; and when he tried to say something, the driver shot him, police said.

The 37-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive, according to police.

The driver of the Chevrolet Equinox sped off northbound on Belair Road, police said.

The suspect vehicle is described as follows:

• 2010 to 2016 Silver Chevrolet Equinox
• Dark tinted windows
• Maryland War of 1812 license plate
