Decomposed Body Found Near White Marsh: Police

Ramp to I-95 south will be closed until further notice, Maryland State Police say.

UPDATE (2:30 p.m.)—Highway workers found a decomposed body off MD 43/White Marsh Boulevard Wednesday morning, according to Maryland State Police.

The body was found 30 feet from the highway in a wooded area off the ramp to MD 43, police reported. It was severely decomposed, the report said.

After highway maintenance workers alerted authorities at 10 a.m., the ramp from MD 43 east to Interstate 95 south was closed while Maryland State Police officials investigated, officials reported.

Police said crime scene technicians, troopers and Baltimore County police responded to assist with the investigation.

The left lane on the eastbound MD 43 ramp reopened before 2:30 p.m., according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.

The body has not been identified and will be taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause and manner of death, police said Wednesday afternoon.

PREVIOUS REPORT—The ramp from eastbound MD 43 to southbound Interstate 95 is closed Wednesday morning, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.

Officials said there was police activity in the area, in a report at 10:21 a.m.

Traffic cameras showed tape and debris on the ramp from MD 43/White Marsh Boulevard.
