Rejected Baltimore County X FACTOR Singer Channels Celine Dion

Changyi Li hoped to be a superstar, but judges said singing wasn't in her future.

A Baltimore County woman recently hit the stage of X FACTOR USA—but her rendition of Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" sank.

Changyi Li, 52 years old and originally from China, wore a sailor-style dress while singing the theme song to "Titanic."

"I want to be a superstar like Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Britney Spears," Li said in the video posted on YouTube on Wednesday.

But judge Simon Cowell compared her performance to the iceberg that struck the Titanic.

Judge Britney Spears deadpanned, "I just don't think singing is for you."

Li received a "no" from each of the celebrity judges.

Of course, some locals have fared better in televised singing competitions.

Perry Hall singer Paige Elizabeth Ogle, who worked at the Perry Hall Recreation & Parks Council Office, made it to one of the final rounds of X FACTOR last year.

Nottingham resident Hallie Day, who worked at the Towson Cheesecake Factory, also made the semi-finals of American Idol back in Feburary.
