Pedestrian Killed In White Marsh Crash: Police

The fatal crash happened Thursday night on US 40.

WHITE MARSH, MD — A woman died when she was hit by a vehicle on Pulaski Highway/US 40 in White Marsh Thursday evening, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

Before 8:30 p.m., first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Route 40 at Allender Road, where officials said the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police said at approximately midnight that she had not yet been identified.

At the time of the crash, the driver was behind the wheel of a 2007 Chevy Cobalt.

According to police, he had been headed east on Route 40 in the right lane when he hit the woman just before the intersection of Pulaski Highway and Allender Road.

He remained at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment, authorities reported. Police did not immediately release his name.

INITIAL REPORT — A serious crash was reported in White Marsh Thursday night that shut down US 40.

First responders were at the scene of a serious collision on Pulaski Highway/US 40 at Allender Road, the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company reported at 8:45 p.m.

All lanes of US 40 were closed in the area as of 9 p.m., the State Highway Administration reported. Authorities advised taking Interstate 95 or Philadelphia Road/MD 7 as alternate routes.
