Found: Essex Teen Returns Home, Police Say

A 13-year-old missing from the Essex area has been located, according to police.

ESSEX, MD — A teen missing from Essex has returned home safely, according to Baltimore County police.

Giselle Melgar, 13, of the 1600 block of Poles Road, was last seen before 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police said.

As of 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday, authorities said she was located, unharmed.

Wen she disappeared, Melgar was wearing furry slip-on sandals, distressed jeans and a long-sleeved gray sweatshirt, according to authorities. Her hair was in a bun held by a rainbow clip.

Police described Melgar as an Hispanic girl with black hair and brown eyes who is 5 feet 5 inches tall and 105 pounds.
