Suspect Captured After Search In Perry Hall: Police
The search for a suspected car thief in Perry Hall has ended with an arrest, Maryland State Police said Wednesday afternoon.

PERRY HALL, MD — Police have arrested the suspect in a car theft who had last been seen in the Perry Hall area, according to officials. During the search for the man, Maryland State Police reported Seven Oaks Elementary School was placed on alert status.
At 12:34 p.m. on Wednesday, police said that troopers and Baltimore County officers were looking for a man who was believed to have abandoned a stolen vehicle near East Joppa at Hines Roads.
As officers searched for the suspect, Seven Oaks Elementary School in the 9200 block of Seven Courts Drive was on "alert status," officials said.

Alert status is used during a community emergency event to secure the building, according to Baltimore County Public Schools protocol. All doors are locked from the inside and staff members are posted at the entrance to ensure those who enter and exit have identification.
At 2:19 p.m., police reported the suspect had been taken into custody by the Baltimore County Police Department. Previously, Maryland State Police said the suspect was described as a black man who was 6-feet-3-inches tall and 190 pounds.
