Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued In Baltimore, Harford Counties

BREAKING: Two counties are under the severe thunderstorm warning Monday, Aug. 9.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect in parts of Baltimore and Harford counties Monday afternoon.

The National Weather Service issued the warning before 4 p.m., and it is in effect until 4:45 p.m.

At 3:52 p.m., radar indicated a severe thunderstorm was over Perry Hall with 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail, the weather service reported.

The storm was nearly stationary.

These locations may be impacted: Carney, Perry Hall, White Marsh, Fallston, Hampton, Kingsville, Pleasant Hills, Glen Arm, Fork, Baldwin, Long Green, Hydes, Loch Raven and Upper Falls.

Those under the warning should move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

Winds may cause some trees and large branches to fall, damaging homes, vehicles and people.

Power outages are possible, and roads may become blocked by trees, officials say.
