Smell From Honeygo Run Reclamation Center Being Addressed: Bevins

The Honeygo Run Reclamation Center is taking measures to remedy the odor surrounding it, Councilwoman Cathy Bevins said.

PERRY HALL, MD โ€” Residents of Perry Hall, White Marsh, Nottingham and surrounding communities have been wondering what the smell is that has permeated their neighborhoods. The odor is like a rotten egg, according to residents.

Councilwoman Cathy Bevins said that Baltimore County investigated and found the source of the smell was "leaching" at the Honeygo Reclamation Center, which may have been caused by heavy rains recently.

Leaching is a process that occurs when water runs through soil and takes away nutrients, such as sulfur.
