Arrest Made In Nottingham Hotel Shooting: Police

Two cases involving violence were reported in the area in the past day, the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company said.

WHITE MARSH, MD — First responders said they handled two calls involving violence in the past 16 hours, in a statement on Thursday morning. One was a stabbing, and the other was a shooting.

The shooting call in the 4900 block of Mercantile Road in Nottingham came in at 2:53 a.m., the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company reported.

Police said a woman was shot in a domestic-related incident at the WoodSpring Suites hotel, and a man has been taken into custody; he is awaiting formal charges.

The woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment of at least one gunshot wound to the upper body, according to authorities. She is expected to survive her injuries, police reported.

"...this was an isolated incident," the Baltimore County Police Department said in a statement Thursday afternoon.

Hours before the shooting, the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company was called to another violent incident: a stabbing.

The stabbing occurred in the 11100 block of Pulaski Highway in White Marsh, according to the fire company.

The White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company reported that it sent its engine to each call for service.
