White Marsh Stabbing Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder

Authorities say man charged in stabbing coworker at Koons Chevrolet dealership was found at hospital.

Police have charged the man suspected of stabbing his coworker Tuesday night at a car dealership in White Marsh.

Demetric Omar Phillips, 31, of the 3500 block of Fairview Avenue in Baltimore, is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center, according to the Baltimore County Police Department. He is charged with attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault.

Officials said they found Phillips at Sinai Hospital, where he had gone to be treated for cuts after a dispute with a coworker at the Koons Chevrolet dealership in the 10200 block of Philadelphia Road.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police allege Phillips stabbed a coworker multiple times while they were standing in a service bay arguing.

Police said Phillips fled.

The victim was taken to an area hospital, police said. His condition was not immediately available.

Phillips is due in Baltimore County District Court at 8:30 a.m. on April 29 for a preliminary hearing.
