Two Perry Hall Pizza Hut Operations to Merge

The Joppa Road location is expected to close in September.

Since 1991, two Pizza Hut locations have served the Perry Hall area— establishment has offered full dining while outlet has focused on home delivery.

In September, the Joppa Road location will close and the Belair Road store will add delivery, said Lorraine Gesuele, an administrative assistant with Pizza Hut of Maryland.

"The lease is up on the Joppa Road one. Rather than lose our customer base, we decided to combine them. ... you lower your costs that way," Gesuele said. "It should be a seamless transition."

The merger was coordinated by John Schulze, vice president for the greater Baltimore area, she said.

The entire Joppa Road staff will move to Belair Road, said Bonnie Hannan, general manager over both locations. The phone number for deliveries is scheduled to be rerouted to Belair Road.

The Belair Road restaurant, built in 1977, was extended in 2002 and its dining area was remodeled two months ago, Hannan said.

"The only issue I see is with people who live on Seven Courts. That location's just been so convenient for them," she said. "They'll just have to get delivery or drive to Belair Road."
