'USA TODAY' Features White Marsh General Motors Plant

It's not every day that one of America's highest circulating newspapers mentions the White Marsh area, let alone devotes half of an article to one of its businesses. 

USA TODAY featured the White Marsh General Motors plant in the article "Jobs in post-recession USA demand multiple skills," published late Tuesday night.

The article focuses on workplace multitasking in a recovering economy. 

According to the article, Rick Rush, a 61-year-old GM employee, performs eight different tasks each day along the plant's line.

As stated in the article: 

GM rotates the workers so they're equipped to fill in for cohorts who are sick or on vacation, enabling the automotive giant to keep its workforce lean. There are other benefits, too.

"It makes the day go by," Rush says. "You don't get bored doing the same thing over and over."

Diversified work responsibilities are a new nationwide trend, according to the article.
