White Marsh Mall Easter Event Scores Big with Little Bunnies
The mall's first-ever Easter Bunny arrival appealed to families.
The Easter Bunny appeared at White Marsh Mall for the first time on Saturday, April 2.
The inaugural Easter Bunny Arrival and Egg Hunt offered children a chance to get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny, go on an egg hunt, spin a prize wheel, have their faces painted like a bunny, enjoy refreshments, get bunny ears and receive a temporary tattoo.
The Easter Bunny was joined by a feathered friend; Ferris, the mascot of the Aberdeen Ironbirds also visited the mall for the event, which took place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the main court.

Michelle José, marketing manager for White Marsh Mall, said that the first 50 children received a free special edition Mickey Mouse plush toy, donated by Macy’s.
“They were gone by 10:15 a.m.,” she said, adding the mall expected about 300 to 400 children to participate in the activities.

Ten stores—Macy’s, Mastercuts, Bath and Body Works, The Limited, The Children’s Place, Littman Jewelers, White Marsh Pet Center, Hallmark, Best Buy Mobile and Merle Norman—offered treat-filled eggs as part of the hunt. In practice, it worked more like Halloween, sparing children the actual hunt. Parents received goodies too, in the form of store coupons and samples.
“It’s a win-win for everyone,” José said.
Although this was the first time the mall offered the free event, “hopefully it will be a reoccurring one,” José said.
Amy Gergel of Joppa told her friend Becky Schafer of Perry Hall about it. Both decided to bring their children.
“It’s really cute,” Gergel said. “The kids are having fun. The face-painting was adorable."
Joyce White of Perry Hall attended with her 2-year-old granddaughter. “I walk here every day, and I told her I would take her,” she said.
Thomas Husler, 7, of Perry Hall, was enjoying the event as he waited in line to get his picture taken. “I like candy,” he said. “I like toys.”
José said the merchants were equally enthused.
“They love the family atmosphere,” she said. “We’re incredibly excited to have the support from the retailers and the families who come to White Marsh Mall.”
