I am pleased to announce that the PHIA presented William J. "Buddy” Butt with the 2010 Perry Hall Citizen of the Year Award at Buddy’s 90th birthday party on April 2, 2011.
Buddy, who is frequently and affectionately referred to as the "Mayor of Perry Hall" has made numerous contributions to the Perry Hall community over the last several decades, and no one is more deserving of this honor. Buddy is the only living founding member of the PHIA. He and his family farmed land in Perry Hall for decades. Buddy led the effort for a new library in Perry Hall in 1963. He also formed the organization that is now known as the Perry Hall White Marsh Business Association. You will currently find Buddy making the finest fruit baskets at “Pride of Germantown,” a small business he operates from his home. Perry Hall is undoubtedly a better place because of Buddy!
