Woman Killed Riding On Motorcycle In White Marsh: Police
Police said a car and motorcycle collided, resulting in one death and one driver fighting for his life.
WHITE MARSH, MD — A woman died and a man was injured after their motorcycle crashed in White Marsh Monday night, according to police. Officials said the driver of a car involved in the crash was not injured.
A Volkswagen Jetta had been attempting to turn left onto Allender Road from Philadelphia Road after 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 8, when an oncoming motorcycle hit the passenger side of the car, police reported.
Ashley Lynn Simpson, 27, of the 7900 block of 35th Street in Baltimore, died following the crash, authorities said. She was riding on the motorcycle, according to officials.

Police said the Jetta driver remained at the scene after the crash and was unharmed.
Philadelphia Road was closed for several hours.
While the case remains under investigation, the car was technically at fault for failing to yield the right of way, Officer Jen Peach told Patch. The car was headed west on Philadelphia Road and the motorcycle was going east, she said, and as the car turned left, the motorcycle hit the front right corner of the Jetta.
"Crash reconstruction has to be done, and that usually takes a few weeks to accomplish," Peach said. "Once that is done, they review the case with the state's attorney" to determine whether any charges may be filed.
Editor's note: This article has been corrected to reflect the car was traveling west and the motorcycle was headed east.
