In September 2018, Cecil County adopted its first-ever SHSP to outline actions to be taken to reduce the frequency and severity of motor vehicles crashes, including those involving bicyclists and pedestrians, which occur on roadways in Cecil County. That plan covered the 2018 – 2020 time frame. A cross-functional group of representatives from state, county, and municipal law enforcement; public works, and other agencies; local fire companies; and other interested stakeholders is in the process of developing the next Cecil County SHSP for the years 2021 – 2025. You can view Cecil County’s draft 2021 – 2025 SHSP in the following link: https://www.ccgov.org/home/showpublisheddocument?id=42030.

The purpose of the virtual public meeting on March 9th is to receive public input to assist in developing the 2021 – 2025 SHSP plan. The Zoom meeting will run from 6:00 – 7:00pm that evening. Members of the SHSP Steering Committee will provide an overview of the SHSP development process and will then open the meeting up to receive public comment. In order to afford everyone who wishes to comment an opportunity to do so, speakers will be limited to five (5) minutes each.
