County Executive Seeks Committee Members for Comprehensive Plan Review

Elkton, MD: County Executive Danielle Hornberger is seeking residents to serve on the Comprehensive Plan Review Committee. This Committee will review the 2010 Comprehensive Plan, evaluate its implementation since adoption, and, if necessary, recommend changes or updates to the County Executive.

The County’s Comprehensive Plan serves as the policy guide and framework for growth, development, and preservation in Cecil County. It examines land use, water resources, transportation, public facilities, economic development, housing, environment, and natural resources. The 2010 Comprehensive Plan horizons in 2030 and, in concurrence with State law, must be reviewed every six years. The 2010 Comprehensive Plan was last reviewed in 2016.

All amendments to the Comprehensive Plan must be introduced by the County Executive, reviewed by the Planning Commission, and approved by the County Council.

The Committee will meet throughout the Fall of 2021 and its members are expected to provide a report of their recommendations to the County Executive by December 2021.

Interested residents should submit a letter of interest and resume to the Cecil County Department of Land Use and Development Services at DLUDS@ccgov.org no later than August 13, 2021.
