Charlestown Elementary Offers Counseling after 10-Year-Old Found Dead

In the wake of a tragedy, Cecil County offers support for students.

After learning that 10-year-old Kami Ring was found dead Monday night in Port Deposit, the school system is mobilizing to support her peers.

Ring, who lived on the 600 block of Bladen Street in Charlestown, attended Charlestown Elementary School, according to Kelly Keeton, spokeswoman for Cecil County Public Schools.

Ring's body was found in Port Deposit Monday night, in a field next to a shed 60 yards from her grandparents' house on Waibel Road, Maryland State Police reported. The cause of death has yet to be determined, and police said the medical examiner is conducting an autopsy.
