Detectives Identify Motive in Street Homicide: Harford County Sheriff's Office
Investigators continue looking for suspects who killed a man in his home on Trappe Road.

Robbery was the motive behind a fatal home invasion Monday morning in Street, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.
After 1 a.m. on Monday, deputies responded to the 1200 block of Trappe Road for a reported home invasion, where Thomas Anderson, 38, was deceased in his residence, the sheriff’s office reported.
Three men with their faces partially covered broke into the residence through the front door, according to the sheriff’s office, which reported two of them had handguns.

When Anderson fought back to protect his family, he was shot, a family member told ABC 2 News.
Investigators believe the robbery was targeted, officials say.
“Detectives are still attempting to establish a connection, but they do not believe this was a random act,” Lt. W. Michael Crabbs told Patch Tuesday.
After the shooting, the suspects left in an unknown direction with a small amount of money, the sheriff’s office reported.
Anderson’s brother told ABC 2 News: “I’m pretty sure they only got away with like $80.”
K-9 officers and detectives were at the residence until 11 a.m. on Monday, according to The Baltimore Sun.
