Giant Food Stores Recalling Velveeta Skillet Meals

The Giant Food grocery chain has announced a voluntary recall of Velveeta Cheesy Skillet Singles Ultimate Cheeseburger Mac due to an undeclared allergen, soy, on the ingredient label, reports WJLA TV.

The recall follows one from Kraft foods.

Giant, based in Landover, has not yet received any reports of illness, but those with allergies to soy may experience serious or life-threatening reactions if they eat the product, according to the company website.

Customers who have already purchased the product can bring their purchase receipt to any Giant store for a full refund.

The grocery chain's website says the products affected have this information on the packaging: Velveeta Cheesy Skillet Singles Ultimate Cheeseburger Mac, 9 oz. UPC: 2100004329 Sell by date: March 2, 2014 — October 23, 2014.
