Hit and Run Killed Man Near Conowingo Dam

Mark Grubbs was struck by a vehicle before his death on July 5, according to reports.

After the body of Pylesville man Mark Grubbs underwent an autopsy, officials have determined he was killed July 5 in a hit and run, WBAL reported.

Maryland State Police said that Grubbs, 51, was found at 2:40 a.m. Friday when troopers from the North East Barrack responded to a report of a body in the roadway on US Route 1 near the Conowingo Dam.

Though troopers attempted to resuscitate him, paramedics pronounced Grubbs dead on arrival, police said.

The medical examiner determined that he was hit by a vehicle near Sweeny's Bar on the 100 block of Conowingo Road, ABC 2 News reported.

Police have interviewed people who were at the bar Friday morning and continue to seek help from the public.

According to ExploreHarford.com, police do not have a vehicle description and are interested in speaking with anyone who may have information related to the case. Callers may remain anonymous; contact Senior Trooper Vogt at 410-996-7800.
