Hot Rod Thefts on the Rise in Harford: Sheriff

There have been several reports of hot rods being stolen in Harford County, according to law enforcement.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a string of hot rod thefts, authorities reported Friday.

Noting that there have been “multiple reports of hot rod cars” being stolen across the county, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office provided these details:

  • A 1978 Chevrolet Z-28 was stolen from the 1500 block of Bel Air Road in Fallston. The theft occurred sometime between 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 1, and 6:45 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 5.
  • A 1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was stolen from the 300 block of Fountain Green Road in Bel Air. The theft occurred between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, 2014.
  • A 1967 Plymouth Belvedere was stolen from the 100 block of Waldon Road in Abingdon. The theft occurred overnight on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014.

There is a cash reward of up to $2,000 for information in the case. To be eligible for a reward, people must submit their tips to Metro Crime Stoppers by texting “MCS” plus the tip to CRIMES (274637); by calling 1-888-540-8477; or by submitting an anonymous tip online.
