Jerry Seinfeld Weighs in on Naked Fight Among Clothiers
Men's Wearhouse is trying to buy Maryland-based Jos. A Bank Clothiers. Actor and comedian Jerry Seinfeld has some thoughts to share on the battle.
Comedian Jerry Seinfeld has a few thoughts about the ongoing battle between Hampstead-basedΒ Jos. A Bank Clothiers, which tried to buy its competitor,Β Menβs Wearhouse Inc.
Then the reverse happened with Menβs Wearhouse trying to buy Bank. Jos. A. Bank leaders are so opposed to a takeover by Men's Wearhouse that they may have made an offer for casual clothing and outerwear chainΒ Eddie Bauer, according toΒ The Baltimore Sun.
During aΒ CBS interviewΒ this week, Seinfeld recalled the longtime TV tagline from the Men's Wearhouse commercials:Β "You're going to like the way you look. I guarantee it."

And heΒ took pokes at both chains.
"Jos. A. Bank - could they advertise more? Could they sell less?" theΒ βSeinfeldβ star said on BuzzFeed Brews on CBS This Morning. "They're just like, 'Weβll give you three suits for $8. Weβll give youβ¦ Just take it, and get it out of here.'"

Menβs Wearhouse, the bigger of the two rivals, also received a few jabs.Β
"So nowΒ Men's WearhouseΒ is saying, 'We want more of this crap. We donβt have enough of our own crap. We want your crap too,'" Seinfeld told the interviewer. "More clothes nobody wants, nobody will buy. There's no price low enough. There's no sale big enough.βΒ
